OVERexpressed & OUT Celebrates Freedom for All
Check out Bread & Roses Community Fund: CHANGE NOT CHARITY
For those interested in collective liberation, check out Bread & Roses Community Fund, a “leading funder of grassroots organizing for racial, social, and economic justice in the Philadelphia region.”
In 2022, OVERexpressed & OUT co-host Jenny Burkholder was part of a Gender Justice Giving Project—a “cross-class, multi-racial, gender-diverse, intergenerational group of 20 people who share a vision for social justice and want to apply their time, talent, and resources to supporting movements for social change.”
Gender justice is:
Reproductive rights
Women’s liberation
Trans and queer liberation
Anti-violence
Racial, economic, education justice.
Gender Justice Giving Project’s Goals:
Build communities across race, class, and gender
Develop skills as donor organizers
Move money from pockets into grassroots community organizing groups that are traditionally not funded
Create a sustainable money-moving model so the people and communities who need it the most can be served
It’s time for CHANGE NOT CHARITY. Take a moment to check out Bread & Roses, sign up for a Giving Project, or perhaps offer up your time and resources in other ways.
